No matter what creative endeavor you pursue, be it painting or poetry or writing or some kind of sculpture or anything else artistic, other people are going to appreciate you getting past the self-doubt and completing your project. Make sure you do your creative work. Not for your sake. Not for art’s sake. Do your creative work because it blesses those in the world. We can even be so bold as to believe our creativity blesses those who are not of the world. This makes art miraculous and it is a wonder that we can participate.

  • I have just started to paint (with bright colours) for fun – for joy – for peace – for my soul. My outlook is more positive and so I am a more peaceful, joyful person to be around. And the change must be obvious because my kids are so pleased to see me paint! Most of all they are pleased to see that I am creating again. And ohhhh I love the way I am completely lost in the moment when I make something. – Pax, Asta

  • Dear Dave,
A gentle ribbing…do you need my proofreading? (Title reads creatiity, and I am out of work, ha ha.) I love your thoughtful posts and your book was also a joy…I devoured it way too quickly and went right back for a second read. One of the best books I read this year.
I need to practice more gratitude and thought I may as well start with thanking you for what you’ve put out into the world.
    Sincerely,
    Deborah

  • Thanks for the ribbing and also kind words, Deborah. Yes, trust me, I need proof readers. Unfortunately, my mind wanders faster than I can spell.

    Blessings, Dave
