Holiday Season Strategies
Over the next few weeks I will post about the holidays. Offer some thoughts on how to keep Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year’s simple. Moan about the excess of our mind boggingly consumerist economy. All the normal 100TC yapping.
I am interested to hear from you, though. What is your strategy for keeping the holidays simple? Also, I am curious to know what areas you feel like you still need help simplifying around the holidays?

I did the challenge and I am happier with my life. There is too much consumerism out there. I intend to live simply. It is good for be without the clutter.
I volunteer for an Alternative Gift Fair in Lancaster, PA called Gifts that Give Hope. We provide alternative gifts that support 30 non-profit organizations, fair-trade items, children’s activities, local food vendors and more. It’s a great way to beat consumerism and focus on better side of the holidays. On top of that we’ve raised over $100,000 for local and global non-profits!
I do not enter Target or Walmart from Thanksgiving until after the New Year. I’ve done this for 2 years now, and it has made a world of a difference in my life. No angry thoughts, feelings of exhaustion, stress about time spent in the store, etc. I usually don’t shop at malls either, year-round.
